Hollow cup motor belongs to DC permanent magnet servo motor, control motor, can also be classified as micro special motor. Hollow cup motor has outstanding energy-saving characteristics, sensitive and convenient control characteristics and stable operation characteristics, the technical advancement is very obvious. Structure and principle of hollow cup motor

The following figure shows the general structure of the hollow cup motor. The hollow cup motor belongs to DC permanent magnet motor. The main difference between it and the ordinary brushless and brushless DC motor is that it uses a no-core rotor, also known as the hollow cup rotor.

The rotor is made of wire wound directly, without any other structure to support these windings. The windings themselves are cupped, forming the structure of the rotor (figure below). Because of the change of rotor structure, the running characteristics of the motor have been greatly improved. It not only has outstanding energy-saving characteristics, but also has the control and drag characteristics that the core motor cannot achieve. Hollow cup motor is divided into brush and brushless two kinds, brush hollow cup motor rotor without an iron core, brushless hollow cup motor stator without an iron core. Market common hollow cup motor models have diameter Φ4, Φ6, Φ7, Φ8, Φ10, Φ12, Φ15 and so on.

Advantages and applications of hollow cup motor

Hollow cup motor has a series of advantages such as high power density, high efficiency, no torque lag, no tooth groove effect, low starting torque, no radial force between rotor and stator, smooth speed curve, low noise, good heat dissipation effect and so on.

The application of hollow cup motor, from the military, high-tech field into the large industrial and civil fields after more than ten years of rapid development, especially in the industrial developed countries, has been involved in most industries and many products.
